While remastering the recordings for the upcoming Europe '72 Box, several tracks that have never circulated or appeared on the setlists have been discovered. One of which is a Mr. Charlie from Copenhagen on 4/17/72. In this case the track may have been removed from the master reel for inclusion on the original Europe '72 release.

I wonder what else they have found?

"While going through the monumental task of transferring, backing up and restoring the Europe '72 multi-track recordings, our team of engineers discovered several tracks that were not listed on any previously circulating track sheets or recordings. Over the next few weeks, we'll give you breaking details on all of the newly-discovered recordings.

This week's uncovered track is...

4/17/72 Tivoli, Copenhagen: "Mr. Charlie," a version that is so good it was removed from the master multi-track reel for consideration to be included on Europe '72!"

I thought the BTW they cut loose today sounded pretty good. Not my favorite tune, however I did learn something. I think if people are worried that Keith is going to be too low in the mix, because of some comments that Jeffrey Norman apparently made about Keith getting in the way, they should hear this. Keith is not low in the mix at all, in fact he seems to be highlighted at times and it sounds great!

Keith doesn't have a big role in this one. If they are going to degrade his input when he "gets in the way", I wouldn't think this is one they mess with. Or is it an all or nothing proposition?

And I still can't believe anybody thinks Keith "gets in the way" on any of these Eur 72 tracks.

Love this sound. Nice upgrade.

Pretty sweet how the upcoming release can get even better.
And judging from the BTW they are letting us preview, sounding really really good.
